Participants and Family FAQ

Q. Will the event be cancelled if there is rain?

A. Light rain with intermittent patterns will NOT cancel the event. Steady rain, lightning, high winds WILL cancel the event. We will contact you VIA email and texts from the information you provide upon sign up. We will also be continuously updating the website in the go/no go section for status updates.

Q. Will there be someone to help guide us to where we need to go, upon arrival?

A. Yes. Upon arriving at the camp there will be a parking attendant to direct you where to go to unload and park. At the Unload site, our guest ambassadors will be waiting for you to get you checked in and having fun as soon as humanly possible!

Q. will there be refreshments available?

A. Yes. We will supply ice, water and sports drinks. Snacks will be available the entire day as well as a catered lunch being served at 12pm. Cold treats will be served from 4-5 on Saturday for social hour before the Ski Show.

Q. what type of bathroom facilities will be available during the event?

A. We have three facilities to chose from. The first is at the pool, a large ADA compliant bath house with full shower capabilities. Second, a brand new ADA compliant bathroom located below the main lodge with ground level access. Third, we will have an wheelchair accessible bathroom located right on the shoreline of the event by the registration tent.

Q. can I participate in more than one event?

A. Absolutely!!! As a matter of fact, we encourage it. With our planned scheduling and attendance each guest should have a chance to get more than one behind the boat runs in. Each run lasts about 15 minutes. Shoreline activities are a great way to use up time in between your next run!

Q. will there be medical personnel available during the event?

A. We work with the local Police/Fire station and we have on site a fully equipped paramedic staff to be there should any care be needed throughout the day.

Volunteers FAQ

Q. can i volunteer for one day, both days or part of a day?

A. You can volunteer one or both days! We no longer offer partial days for volunteering. We have those options available in the volunteer section. Just pick your three preferred events and the days you can help. We will do our best to accommodate because we love helping those that help our athletes!

Q. how old do you have to be to volunteer?

A. We have positions available for all ages. You just have to be able to perform the tasks outlined in the position description section. Some jobs require a drivers license like driving the watercraft, but the rest really don’t have age restrictions.

Q. i want to volunteer, but i’m not very comfortable in the water, can i still volunteer?

A. You sure can! We have both in water and on land opportunities to help out. Just look closely at the volunteer page as we have them sorted out for you!

Q. Is there any additional insurance i need on myself or my equipment to help in the event?

A. No. You must have both you and your equipment insured as you already do. The Permobil Foundation carries its own policy as well as an additional rider for this particular event. Good question to ask and as a reminder… let’s always be safe and not rush ANYTHING out there!
